St. Vincent de Paul Society

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is an international organization of lay catholic volunteers. Our St Paul’s Conference was started in 1953, under Mgr. Jack Swan. The Mission of the SVDP is to deepen the faith of its members through works of charity – to go out into our communities to serve the poor and heighten awareness of Jesus Christ.

We do this by sharing ourselves (who we are and what we have) with the poor, sick and homeless on a person-to-person basis. We seek to co-operate in shaping a more just and compassionate society.

We are guided by the SVDP values of charity, empathy, simplicity, justice and spirituality. Our preferred option in this mission of service is to work with those in need, through development by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope, and encouraging them to take control of their destiny.

The society is financed by donations from generous parishioners and others. We accept financial contributions, clothing, blankets and non-perishable food items. Here below you can find our banking details for monetary offerings:
